Update Verizon Fascinate i500 to Gingerbread, Ice Cream Sandwich and Jellybean

Recommended Posts

Did you try the odin files of geewiz? You can find the links on xda. See if it works. BTW, yesterday i flashed ek10 again & then flashed geewiz. It worked again for me. Dont know why its not working for u? Btw do you still have the dbdata problem? If yes , get it solved from serv centre first otherwise geewz wont work. (my personal experience)

Hi Maverick75,

Do you have the ek10 file. I need to flash again. Please help me out.

Thanks, kartik.

@ Joshm :

One thing need to know for my knowledge update as you said, Nandroid back_up is like a mirror image of ROM but it won't backup your kernel and radio.

Then what is the procedure to restore the ROM in Nandroid back_up ? Which kernel and radio to be FLASHED(if any link) ?

Another thing, after Flashing Build 38, My Signal is coming two bars. Previously in the same place it is coming full. but the quality of voice in calls is not down.

What about the Build 39.

Thanks in advance

regards

Its pretty simple if you backedup a eh03 based rom via nandroid then you should flash stock eh03 root it and on it restore your nandroid via restore option.

If it was ics then you should be on any ics rom yo restore nandroid.

I didnt notice anything in 38, but 39 id great with the devil kernel.

ThanX Joshm. It means the Nandroid restore process needs a platform, if it is EH03 restoration then the phone should be on EH03 ROM or if it is ICS restoration then the phone should be on ICS ROM.

Is it needed to WIPE DATA , WIPE cache partition, WIPE DALVIK for this above process ?

lf I want to Flash the AOKP Build 39 by your procedure.

That would be :

(Please correct me if I am wrong) ;)

Download this LATEST AOKP BUILD 39

http://goo.im/devs/a...td_build-39.zip

Download this new DEViL kernel which has a new version of recovery in it

http://forum.xda-dev...hmentid=1120918

Download latest GAPPS

http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip

Download the Data Fix file.

http://www.mediafire...srqv32venglftmq

1.. Just make a Nandroid backup of your Build 38 by booting into recovery and using the backup and restore option

2.. Once done boot the phone and backup all DATA + apps with the help of MyBackup ROOT

3.. Make sure you have stored all the four download files mentioned above in the root of your SD card.

4.. Once again REBOOT in recovery , WIPE DATA , WIPE cache partition, WIPE DALVIK

5. Flash the Build 39, then Flash the DEViL kernel, then Flash gapps , and in the end flash the ICS Data Fix.

Boot up and you now have the AOKP Build 39.

That would be it,

Just a chink devil has a new version up. Plus they have a new app to tweak the settings, which is like totally awesome.

But you can leave them to me to test for a couple of days, then i ll share it myself.

Hi Everyone,

I've tried flashing ICS as well as evil fascination. However, on both, the data does not work (even after flashing the Data fix).

I got the phone from Reliance India, wherein for activating data (on froyo), I got to Settings>Wireless and Networks>Mobile Networks>CDMA Data Settings, and enter #777 for PPP digit and mobile number for username/password.

These options are not available on the ICS as well as Evil fascination. Any idea of how to go about that?

Thanks in advance,

Kartik.

hey !! its been a while since my last update :)

Some important news upfront

The M6 update that i am gonna be sharing now is prolly the last update over ICS from the awesomest AOKP TEAM.

But the biggest thing for us Ol timers is that the AOKP will now be working and releasing JellyBean updates for fascinate :) yupp the best ever news really !!

( this is gonna be sweet LOL considering the S3 vzn variant has come out with LOCKED bootloader )

ok the UPDATES now

AOKP MILESTONE 6 Rom [with Linaro toolchain and latest DEVIL kernel] : http://android.encou...one-6-Devil.zip

Latest GAPPS : http://goo.im/gapps/...0429-signed.zip

DATA FIX : http://www.mediafire...srqv32venglftmq

Installation :

You should already be on any earlier version of aokp

1.. Make a nandroid backup

2.. Backup all your data ( with super backup + mybackup root ) - so that you can install them back on your M6

3.. place all the files on your SD card.

4.. boot into recovery by long pressing power button and then selecting REBOOT > recovery ( DON'T give it three fingers plz ;) )

5.. wipe data > wipe cache > wipe dalvik ( just once in enough )

6.. install the M6 by selecting flash zip file option

7.. flash GAPPS

8.. Flash DATA FIX

reboot > give it like 7 or 10 minutes for the first boot > PROFIT

If you are running any GB or FROYO Rom then plz follow this tutorial -------

and instead of flashing the M5 in there flash the M6 file

as usual if your phone explodes or there starts a nulclear war or your GF runs away ;P we arent responssible , this inclues Bricked phones too ;)

http://rootaxbox.no-ip.org/divers/test/Devil3_0.99_fascinate_CFS_BLN_CMC_20120708.zip

then boot in recovery and make a nandroid.

Joshm Install M6 very neatly.

after the restore from Mybackup App+Data It says reboot immediately.

after rebooting it stuck in the AOPK screen at the booting.

Happens,

just wipe all three again and repeat the process as before

After first boot

contacts will be restored from ur gmail account automatically

Thru superbackup restore contacts , sms and logs

And to restore apps, go to external sd folder in card and restore apps from mybackup folder manually, dont use my backup app to restore apps and data this time
