Reliance CDMA Shutting down

Recommended Posts

I am getting prerecorded messages even on postpaid number registered for 4G. Strangely, for my delhi prepaid numnber (on roaming) there is no prerecorded message, even though it is not yet registered for 4G.

Funny thing is I am getting messages on my Reliance CDMA prepaid (Kolkata circle) from YV-665665 with invitation to join MTS network!! The texts are very frequent in last 3 days - almost thrice a day!

Yesterday, a relative went to the Reliance store at Khopat (Thane) to ask for the 4G sim but they said it's not available. Instead, they gave a form to convert from CDMA prepaid to GSM postpaid.

Man, this is getting very confusing

That is crookedness of the webworld people in action. Even I received a call about 15-20 days back saying that CDMA is closing and to continue with GSM all I need to do is fill a form and give kyc. They were clever enough to offer sending someone to my place with the forms. When I countered that for 4G SIM there is no need to fill up any form, the caller was taken aback and murmured "ok so you know" and then disconnected.

New Update

No more update to 4G Sim,

Now All RCDMA Customer have to do INP & Move to RGSM 1st than they will plan for 4G

So people who are Dreaming 4G Have fun........

M Stuck with 2yrs Plan Esle Would have moved to Voda or Airtel

People who are on Prepaid better opt out RCOM

I would like to know if I don't want to upgrade to 4G network, would I be able to continue my existing CDMA connection in my LG 6300 CDMA handset. Is it compulsory to upgrade !

If I buy a new 4G sim will it work in my existing CDMA Handset ( LG 6300 ) or it will work on a 2G network on the same handset or I have to buy a new 4G enabled handset too for this.

Still there is lot of confusion regarding this upgrade. Everyone has different opinions regarding this issue.

I'm not able to find any Reliance store near my location and local stores don't know anything about this. Reliance customer care doesn't reply to mail too.

Plz guide me before CDMA completely shuts down. What should I do ?

So Rcom has trolled their customers? So ”customers will continue to get old tariff benefits” are all lie? Very cruel. If customers really need to do INP to use 4g services, they better do MNP to other operators, to teach Rcom a lesson.

How does INP happen? Do we have to fill up a new for, kyc, etc.?

Any info will be helpful in deciding the next step now.

Thanks.

If I have to do INP, I would definitely shift to Airtel or Voda. R-GSM s**ks.

But is this confirmed news?

Again depends if the data tariff is as cheap as CDMA it's worth using rcom as second operator only for data n have a gud 2g operators for calling on Ur primary number

Hi,

So far yes for some circles like Punjab, Haryana & HP. They don't have 4G sim's in these circle's so they migrated to GSM. Dunt know what's going to happen later..

If GSM migration is compulsory then we should start  receiving  SMSes now. Let's wait for it before deciding on  anything.
