Nice work vishal but as expected there is no ringtone directory -_-

And it's doubtful if the phone supports custom ringtones.

Considering the fact that the directory tree is otherwise similar to LG mobiles U can try creating a directory with files similar to them.

Create directory called:

locsound

Upload files :

mhlsnd1

mhlsndh1

(get these from some RIM LG user)

But note that there are a lot of hurdles:

1.$USER_DIRS will not have the entry for locsound directory.

2. We even don't know if there is support in the phone for recognizing these custom stuff.

3. You may even screw up ur phone by doing above (So try at your on risk)

Hi Vishal,

How you accessed the file system of FWP. As far as I know that I provided the file LGKDP4_8.exe and the file connects the FWP at 38,000 bps and through this connection I was unable to use Bitpim.

So, how you accessed the FWP through Bitpim?

Guys!

Now I tell u how i did it?

Whenever i tried to detect FWP with bitpim, it always gave following error:

"The phone is not responding while transitioning mode from none to brew."

So an idea came in my mind to change phone mode with the help of uniCDMA and then again try with bitpim. So i convert phone into DM mode with the help of uniCDMA and then tried with bitpim again. and SUCCESS!!!

So the steps to read file system of FWP with the help of bitpim are:

1. First open LGKDP to detect FWP.

2. Now close it and open uniCDMA and click on HF->DM button.

3. Now close uniCDMA and open bitpim, select phone type to anyone because i tried almost every type and all worked, now expand file system.

Now u can successfully browse through file system.

In FWP file system there are some useful files that contain certain useful information.

I am telling u name of such files:

/->nvm->nvm->nvm_0001 ::->

I think this file contains Phone book of FWP. I found name of persons in this file that i've stored in my phone.

/->nvm->nvm->nvm_0002 ::->

This file is very useful. U can find the 4-digit security lock code here in 8th line and 6-digit Field test lock code (required to enter in field test mode after pressing <Menu>+0 ) in 9th line.

Thats it.

I found nothing else important in FWP file system.

Hi Vishal,

Have you seen that if the FWP is locked then the LGKDP can't connect?

So, if anybody locks the FWP and want to unlock then how to get that if he/she forgets the code?

I think u didnt read my following post:

http://www.rimweb.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1560

use 6278 ( master code ) as four digit lock code.

This code will definitely work whether u specified any other code as security code.

First open LGKDP and change port to COM1 from COM2 (if ur phone is connected to COM1), when it shows "Phone connected" in its address bar.

Then close it and open UniCDMA, now it'll surely detect ur FWP!

I think LGKDP works only on Serial cables and not on USB cables?

Try using Serial cable!

Try accessing using BitPim first, and then try uniCDMA (after closing)

Which set r u talking about?

Is it FWP?

If yes, then first open LGKDP then close it & open UniCDMA and click on HF -> DM button and then open bitpim.

Now it'll surely work!

For RD2030, d/l the latest version of bitpim and open it, it'll surely detect ur phone.

and if not, then open Hyper Terminal (In accessories -> Communications) and select ur phone installed as modem) and in terminal type AT$QCDMG, now close it and open bitpim.

I tried doing that too i.e. I downloaded Bitpim.7.24 from sourceforge dated 06 Jan 04 but it did not detect my LG RD2030 then I loaded the software on a machine with Win 2K and no R connect or PC sync installed first it gave error phone did'nt respond while changing from none to brew then I loaded LGKDP and UniCDMA and tried to put phone on DM mode then tried again now the phone says exception

n unexpected exception has occurred.

Please see the help for details on what to do.

on giving command AT$QDCMG it says ERROR

Its AT$QCDMG and not AT$QDCMG.

So pls try the right command!
