6 pointsIndeed what you said is right. Since it was my mistake, he categorically said 2013 and he asked me to buy from money he saved, I had no excuse left. We have made a deal that he will be given 20 bucks every fortnight (he is just 10 so this much is enough till now ) and he can buy junk food / things of his choice. If he wish he can skip taking money and but things of saved sum. I have taken him to the places where under privileged children lives but not to show what kind of life they live but to show that apart from having families kids do survive in hostels and they are not destitute, I do not believe in spreading philosophy "दुनिया में कितना गम है मेरा गम कितना कम है" rather I believe that miseries are miseries. Under estimating or over estimating misery is not necessary. It may sound very odd to many but I do not give away any thing to a person who can not afford such thing otherwise except education related stuff. Every one must earn their money. In Gujarat, storing food grains for the whole year is a custom. Just like prevalent society then, most people had limited financial resources so they were constrained to do many jobs themselves. My mother would offer us 10 paise per some measure of wheat cleaned. We all 3 siblings would earn few rupees and will save them to buy stuff for ourselves. When we grew old, my mother would offer we siblings to mop house / clean clothes / wash utensils and money saved on household help would be given to us. My father was government officer and we had lots of household help available free but was seldom used for these reasons. This way my parents taught us to earn money ourselves and I always believe it has been one of the greatest lesson we learn about life and importance of money. PM me your address, I will courier it to you.

5 points^^^ Sir with due respect to you and your noble thought but todays spoilt kids be it yours or mine they wont want to adjust to things. "Kya papa pichle saal ka lake aaye mare paas to isme se sab cards hain." Last year I also did similar kind of mistake. Then we went to a orphanage near Kalyan and gave it to the children there. and they were overjoyed to use it. If possible take your son and make him explain the rules to children. Plan out a day of his vacation there. He also will feel good. I know it is not right to give something outdated, but for those under privileged ones even something outdated is Precious and gives joy to them. I am getting goose bums while writing this remembering the reactions of the children there.

4 pointsKshah ji, I read you reply And indeed children should learn the value of money no matter what. One thing that made me add a reply here is your comment about storing grains for 1 year. Actually there is a proper reason, health related reason for that and the practice is there all over India ( at least its pretty common in north India where I belong) The reason behind is : grains which are of last year's crops are lighter on digestion and are considered healthy to eat. Ancient text says eating grains from newer crop regularly makes you prone to diabetes. Reason could be overtime the glycemic index becomes more favourable. This generally applies to grains like wheat rice and stuff which is common to staple diet people. Just thought of sharing. God bless sent from my NOTE II, yupp size does matter.

1 pointSounds good logic. Any idea how to make small experiments to check? There is no experiment to proof it..... But whatever he said is true.... Even we had been doing the same thing... And @KShah its the same in all family.... I still remember when in diwali cousins use to clean the whole house just to get more crackers.... Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2 This is a fact from AYURVEDA and FYI repeated and higher dosage of grains from new crop are considered a cause of Diabetes in the Ayurvedic Text, apart from a number of other factors to which now a days people dont pay any attention at all. My idea was not to start a debate or provide proof to people , it was just to reinforce what Mr Shah had said , its a widely practiced things in India since Vedic times .

1 pointWhat can be the motivation to pay almost 3 times more amount (249 vs 94) for 50% less data ?? That too we don't know if vodafone offers 3g speed, whereas reliance cdma does..

1 pointHeard the Nokia CEO was taken to task by investors for failing to keep it up with the Samsung and latching onto a doomed mobile OS from his previous boss, Microsoft. He can learn something from Micromax here for launching a model at every conceivable price point, a game they are playing better than Samsung who started it all !!

1 pointI am from Baroda & a user of reliance CDMA since last 7 years. CDMA network is very strong in most of the city limits & there is nowhere I have found signal problems. Yes, in basements of mall, parking places etc, there is a drop in signal level, but that is applicable to any network. In the periphery of the city , there is a reduction in signal power, but call drop is never an issue. In most of the city area EVDO works well, but in outskirts I have noticed 1x many times. Plans I am using is 1.5 GB/month evdo @ 94 Rs << earlier it was even better, but now it has changed. You can find discussion about the same in this forum. For datacard, earlier my company in outskirt of city, used to give tata photon+ to few employees for net on move, but after there were signal problems, company switched to reliance net connect. Sorry, I can't provide feedback for other networks, as not a regular user of any other service. I do have few other connections but use them only 1-2% of time of month, so not much experience.

1 pointWhat's next? Galaxy Giga phone with 7.8" screen and Galaxy Tera Phone with 9.9" screen? Samsung used the caption "Designed for humans" for s3. For Galaxy Giga/Tera the caption will be "Designed for Big Foot/Yeti" Sent from my PantechP9070 using Tapatalk 2

1 pointsir, to the best of my understanding, first of all you need SPC of the device and changing the R-UIM config to RUIM, if available, is all what is required (maybe i'm wrong). for being on a safer side, you can backup original settings (NAM, NV Items, etc.), if in case you need to get it back to the previous state. point is, the data card is provisioned to work on the network (telecom operator), but when its unlocked to use with any RUIM, it takes parameters from RUIM, just as in case of OMH/Unlocked handsets. Still there are some data cards, which are not unlockable (till now..) hope it clarifies your doubt.. PS : This applies for CDMA Data Cards Only.

1 pointGood New for TATA & MTS users. Seems like Droid Bionic can function fully with OMH Card with 1x & EVDO Data. Testing still in progress. Will post results next week when I have new handsets in hand.
