Mahidhar 3 Report post Posted January 29, 2004 hi, as far as i know, u cannot download ringtones from the internet into LG 2030 ... u're stuck with the ones on R world. all u can do with the cabe is surf the web using your phone as a modem ... nothing more !! So there are several programming dudes all over the country who are actually tryin to decode these handsets and trying to figure out how to add more games or ringtones in them... does any of u all have any clue to such ppl?? let us know... Ok, can someone now prepare a easy step by step guide to using this? Coz a person like me, wouldn't like to lose his 250 contacts for something tht i can wrong with.. pls... There are options like TO DO and MEMO.. they dont work wid LG 2030 right? And in Contacts there are several other categories of information filling, like Pager No. or Contents or Middle Name or Category(Biz,Frenz) etc that would work with LG 2030... right? sunil_jok 2 Report post Posted March 7, 2004 here is something i found interesting in lg desktop you can add 12 nos... how many of those would show an incoming call i dont know... but i have added my friends office no: business1 and business 2. it doesnt show the business no in the mobile. but i want to check it and see if it shows the name if i get incoming call from that no... if anyone has checked it please post your findings soon Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Coz a person like me, wouldn't like to lose his 250 contacts for something tht i can wrong with.. pls... im sure chirag have found the answers for that i hope this will be of use to other ppl i got my cable only day before yesterday and got it working only yesterday anyway here is something... if you want to back up ur phone book first use bitpim... and open the file system click on pim you will see phonebook.dat save it to your hard disk now when u use lg desktop click on synchronization ----- synchronization configuration--------conflict resolution tab---- select the first one namely overwrite PIM record with phone data. now u can try tinkering with your phone... i hope i have not made any mistakes. so wait till other moderators like chirag or ashok confirm what i have told you before you act on it... Chirag 5 Report post Posted March 7, 2004 hmm.. i used that software, worked pretty fine for Phone Book... What u got to rem, is that u can overwrite the data from PC to Phone and Phone to PC. So keep a watchful eye when u synchronize. Remember to select the right option for synchronizing. Well Sunil, i dont think those various options of Biz2, Home2 etc are for LG2030. They didn't get stored, when i used them, on my phone either! And if they dont store on the phone i dont think u'll get the name while someone calls u from that no.
