Ya... I have heard soooo many complaints (esp non-delivery shipping for morethan a momth) reg timtara all over the internet (fb, mouthshut, consumercourt, etc)... But not so much reg tradus.in (few complaints are on delay by 5 days or product changed [by mistake] and refunded)... I got Huwaei phone from them on time and now I have ordered one camera from them too...

Kshah ji, your complaint is giving fear to me... But, Lets wait and see...

Tradus has no cc number, one is at mercy of emails. Response time is 48-72 hours.

I placed Toshiba lcd order on 12 jan, I cancel order on 27th jan as they were delaying deliveries, they refund money on 5th Feb. AFAIK THEY CANCLE ALL ORDER OF TOSHIBA LCD.

I feel time taken for each act is not of professional company.

Pls suggest good deals for samsung Galaxy Y or any good android phone within a budget of 6k to 7k.

Just bought 2nd Galaxy Y with 5 back panels for my kids today - Landed cost 7,150/- after using 250Rs. discount coupon received from ebay - http://www.ebay.in/i...984.m1497.l2649

Only thing I feel in this phone is that there is no camera flash and the screen resolution is low after comparing it with my Samsung Galaxy S2 CDMA from Sprint... please don't laugh... lolz. Rest both of them are on Android 2.3.6 i.e. Gingerbread. Perfect bang for your bucks, this phone...

Spice Mi 280 Dual SIM Android at Rs 4,538 >> http://deals.sulekha...ice-mi280-10021

Spice Mi 270 is available at Rs 3,079 here >> http://deals.sulekha...or-just-rs-6266

But it's worth spending Rs 1,500 more and get Mi 280 considering the huge difference in specs IMHO.

Well just a query. Considering that a new Spice MI 280 is available at 4538 and a used (but almost mint) Samsung Galaxy Y is available for close to 6000 in ebay.in, which would be a better deal? Rajan bhai can you help me please? I just want a basic Android which can meet all my basic requirements + 3G. Front cam etc not really relevant. Wifi is required. GPS again not really relevant. So is the extra 1500 really worth or will the Spice MI 280 really meet up to expectations?

Regards

Rahul

It will be a long time before a Pony will become a Horse and a Spice will become a Samsung...

Depends really on your need. If convenience of 3G Dual SIM android is a must for taking benefit of tariff plans or other reasons, then there is no other handset in the market at the moment which is as VFM + having all features as Mi 280. If Dual SIM is not needed, then the comparison is like this,

  • Mi280 has a dedicated GPU. Galaxy Y lacks any GPU.
  • Galaxy Y has 832 Mhz ARM V6 processor whereas Mi 280 has 650 Mhz. Y looks better on paper in this regard but won't make a great difference in day to day use. Plus Mi280 will make up with it's GPU.
  • Y has 1200 mAh battery compared to 1000 mAh of Mi 280. Y will have better battery life due to higher battery + Single SIM. If you'll use only Single SIM in Mi 280, battery life will be improved. Still Mi 280 battery life will be poor in comparison.
  • Both has 240 x 320 resolution. User memory also similar. Rest all mostly same.
  • Samsung is expected to have better component + build quality + service support compared to spice. But understand the difference in quality for such budget devices compared to Spice won't be so huge as compared to higher priced models. Samsung too is working within a budget and can't give you quality comparable to S II.

Hope now you're able to make the judgement yourself for your question: Whether you want to spend 1,500 more or not? :)
