My dear friends, nearly each of us, use data on mobile now a days and for this we subscribe to different plans offered by different operators. I prepared this Poll to know the DATA USAGE Pattern of our members specifically on Mobile.

Cast your vote about how much data do you use on mobile every month on an average. Also vote for the operator whose Data Services you are using. Also tell us if you feel satisfied or not with your current operator's gprs / edge speeds. :)

If you use data services on more then one mobile then you can caste MULTIPLE VOTES also. :)

You can share as much as you want about your Data related experience with different operators. :)

Go ahead and cast your vote my dear friends. :thumb:

P.S. : Vote for the Data Usage on mobile only and not for the usage on computers when connected through your mobile. :)

I consume about 200-300 MB on my CDMA handset mainly for emails and chats. Its not at all used for downloading or exploiting RCOM CDMA bug under L1 plan.

@Kamalbhai. Nice thread +1

Same 200-300 MB on Reliance CDMA here. Honestly don't have much hope from 3G GSM from private operators (In terms of affordable tariffs) and we don't have BSNL here.

Now really looking for Reliance Broadband (Mukesh Ambani) launch to re-define mobile broadband data market. They have already selected LTE instead of WiMax and few days back finished successful trials. Hmmm.....this may be the killer solution we all are dying to lay our hands on for mobile broadband. They don't have a mobile license now but don't think they will ignore the Mobile Market. By launch time, expect them to stitch something unexpected.

I use about 100MB on my RCDMA mobile for emails, and light browsing only. No downloads... For downloading heavy email attachments, wifi comes in very handy. I am on Windows Mobile Data plan Rs 199 per month

6 GB gprs pack on Tata Docomo + 2.5GB 1x pack on Tata Indicom. Will consume on an average 3 - 4 GB every month.

REASON for pretty high consumption - Streaming on Youtube, Downloading songs, files. The coverage I enjoy at my place is spoiling me! :)

It is 6 GB this month as I have activated 3G and EVDO :D

Reason for Edit - Forgot to mention the packs.

Nice initiative Kamal bhai.

I use 1X 2.5GB plan on TataIndicom. I use it extensively for browsing, chatting, watching youtube movies, emailing to name a few. This is really handy. And unlike RCDMA, here is no network usage charge

So I'm quite satisfied.

So far the poll statistics shows a moderate usage of DATA on mobile. But I'm sure as soon as 3G will be available throughout India, the figure of Data usage on Mobile will multiply atleast 5 to 7 times. :)

My data usage per month on mobile is 1 to 50 MB on my Vodafone Mobile Connect for checking mails etc.

And 51-100 MB on TATA DOCOMO for light surfing with Opera. :)

100-200 MB on Reliance CDMA. Only used for push mail headers and twitter feeds. All downloads usually done on wifi and I dont stream anything on the mobile, hence low usage. I'm happy with Reliance data. I have unlimited 2G plan on Airtel as well, but have hardly used it yet as I dont have a phone to match the CDMA Epic :P

i use around 150-200 min. (dunno how much mb's it would constitute) on on incredible on Reliance CDMA R-connect (wid mobile no. as mdn and password) on default plan i.e. 60 ps/min. for checking mails and updates on rimweb, fb & twitter.

i wish to subscribe for data plans but can't decide yet between R-World and R-Connect plans and moreover i don't know how 2 change setting so dat R-World can work on my incredible :(

:previous:

Assuming 200 minutes of usage on default plan with mobile no as mdn and password, you are already paying,

-For Minutes of Usage=200*.6= Rs 120

-For Network Usage Charges assuming 100 MB is consumed= 100*5= Rs 500

So total Rs 620.

Why don't you subscribe to Windows Mobile 199 plan for Rs 199 per month which will give you 500 MB usage with no Network Usage Charges.

And you won't have to make any change to your phone as mobile no as mdn and password is already entered.

^^^^ Rajanbhai.. i'm not charged such heavily for data.. i have attached data part bill copy.

btw.. thanx for suggestion.. i have subscribed for Windows Mobile Plan 200 MB for Rs. 95/-. Probably that should suffice me, as i use net on wi-fi at office and home.

I use RCDMA for voice & SMS only (B559 handset).

For data I use MTNL Delhi 3G prepaid. Average usage per month (based on record since Nov 2009) is around 400-450 MB. Using Spice Mi300 handset since Oct 2010, was using Micromax H360 earlier.
