dont update officially or by flashing the OTA zip

give it a few days , let the picture get clearer

would arther suggest you to flash custom JB based roms.

the vzn razr community is full of very many developers and they ll churn out some great roms i a day or two.

Reliance CDMA settings are not disturbed during Rom install.. It isn't disturbed even when you flash a radio or modem.. So go ahead and customise without worrying about Reliance programming on your handset..

my only concern is that during OTA update for ICS, i lost all my reliance settings and had to get the handset reprogrammed from my buyer. The buyer was nice enough to do it FOC for me but issue is the distance and he takes one full day.

so just want to be doubly sure if the OTA update does not mess my settings else i will update as per my convenience.

Hi

I have a query before converting into a Maxx user,

If EVDO is to be used , we need an LTE Sim from Verizon.

That means the phone would have to be programmed with central parameters and RUIM will not be used. Has anyone got a detailed process for the same.

Kindly advise there is a phone available but I m quite skeptical about Programming support . Even though Gurus like Kapil and Parin have helped me a lot, I do not wish to trouble them continuously.

Just like any other verizon update, this update too restore All nv to Verizon default

Means you have to write prl, min, a key, Hdr, ppp need to be written

It also require lte sim to enable evdo.

Jelly bean rom seems to have better battery life. initially I felt there is no improvement but after few charge cycles life appear to have improved.

30 % battery after About 2 hours screen on, 1 hr 50 minutes of talk time and 2 days 12 hours since unplugged.

My configuration is 10 to 7 data is off. Rest of the time data, wifi and Bluetooth on.

Dan Rosenberg Blesses Droid RAZR/MAXX Users With Root For The 'Unrootable' Jelly Bean 4.1 OTA

Winning a $450 bounty and the hearts of Droid RAZR/MAXX users, Dan Rosenberg has found a successful root method for the phone's 4.1 JellyBean OTA, which began rolling out last Christmas Eve.

Some readers are likely familiar with Mr. Rosenberg's work, as he's rooted everything in sight from the Droid RAZR/MAXX HD to the RAZR M, all the way back to the LG Spectrum. As a security researcher, he's even given (and published) a helpful presentation on rooting and modding for the security conscious.

Not only can Droid RAZR/MAXX owners now root their Jelly Bean powered handsets, they can do it with ease – the process is as simple as connecting the phone and running a .bat file.

For the full instructions, and to keep up with the discussion, check out this DroidRZR thread HERE >> http://www.droidrzr.com/index.php/topic/6924-root-achieved-for-jb-ota-razrmaxx-xt912/
