Enough of this endless waiting for 4G. I warn these Ambani brothers to get in line and start 4G. Otherwise..... I will be compelled to get 2 rcom 2G sims, insert into my dual sim phone, activate data in both and forcefully extract 2G+2G = 4G data from rcom network. ☺☺☺☺

Similar experience here... went to nearest web world shop...saw the guy struggling with sim reader...he did not know in which direction to insert the sim. (Personal observation: the sim patching devices which reliance is handing over to them are...well buggy, they seem like sawed off version of sim reader) Anyways...i offered to help but this guy was too proud i guess....my 10+ years of telecom and hardware/software patching seemed irrelevant. The next shop flatly refused. Finally, the one at Pitam pura (like 5 kms from my house) was much more accommodating....i helped him patch the imported handsets (APN, *#*#4636*#*# network selection etc) Spent like an hour after my sim was patched helping other customers...the shop was empty when i was allowed to leave.:)

4G spectrum used in TN and Delhi are totally different.. In Chennai, Airtel is using just 5MHz of band 3 (1800MHz) spectrum, whereas in Delhi its using 20MHz of band 40 (2300MHz) spectrum. Further Airtel is using 10MHz of band 1 (2100MHz) 3G spectrum in TN, which is twice as other 3G operators there and hence its 3G speed is almost as good as 4G speed.. Please Wait till Airtel get 20MHz of band 40 (2300MHz) from Aircel this month and launch LTE-A with carrier aggregation on both Band 3 and Band 40 spectrum and then check the real 4G speeds. Airtel is using 900MHz 2G in Chennai (but 1800MHz in RoTN) and has soo many users in Chennai. The 3G speed was very pathetic before 2015 auction as they had just 5MHz of 3G spectrum and too many users. They bought second lot of 3G in 2015 auction and then the condition of 3G is better in TN. In my home town Sivakasi, Airtel's 3G is twice faster than Idea's 4G (Idea NOT using OFC backhaul is also one reason).. Moving to Airtel till RJio launches is really a good idea for a Delhi user, imho...

Ap Circle, room GSM has only 2g. so you will get only 2g and if they upgrade the spectrum of cdma to 4g then, 4g will come. I think it will take 3 or 4 days to enable 4g till then only 2g Edge will work. I am also from Hyderabad and getting 2g (E) or nil.

Same here. Reliance CDMA working in Gujarat as earlier. No hiccups anytime. Sent from my K016 using Tapatalk

Don't do it. Airtel only shows 4g in the title bar but the speed is either lesser than 3g or equal to 3g. Only marketing gimmick. At least that's what I face in Chennai and Tamil nadu. Sent from my Redmi Note 3 using Tapatalk

Just came back from Viman Nagar store after spending almost an hour there. Lot of agitated customers there. I realized that the aged people have a unique challenge - they do not know how to transfer the phone numbers from CDMA handset to their new handset. One lady came in screaming after visiting three shops where they refused to help her out. I was able to transfer her 140+ contacts via Bluetooth. Please try to help your neighbors and parents who are not as informed as we are on the forum. Coming back to my case, only once the SIM Toolkit showed me options for National and International Roaming. National Roaming was selected (There was a message: It was already ON) Rebooted - still unable to latch on the network. Then the store owner took the SIM and put it to a SIM reader connected to his computer and gave back in 5 seconds. Tried the process again - still no luck Then the store owner's son played around the SIM toolkit - the options no longer came. He tried putting the SIM in his Mi phone and the options came there, but the network did not come even after rebooting. I was told that perphaps it is due to my CDMA number being active at the moment. Well that was a possibility, I thought. So, I left the store. Now, I reached office and checked the online portal Customer Number Status : Not Active So, turns out CDMA number is out of service. So the only hope now is some 'software upgrade' of SIM. There is some Reliance person who was expected to come at 12 PM, but he did not turn up until 12:15. So, I would have to try and catch him some other day.

Check service status in Myservices. Migrated connections show LTE4G_POSTPAID/ LTE4G_PREPAID. Non-migrated ones show Mobile-Postpaid/Mobile-Prepaid. I am facing the issue as they have not yet migrated my connection.

You need to fix both things get you sim software upgraded and also in sim toolkit in roaming select national and then reboot. This problem is having in dual sim phones not in single sim phones. Sent from my MI 5 using Tapatalk

It is ore due to pending migration of many customers. Yesterday saw long que at one of the reliance stores in Mumbai. So they are aware that it is difficult from them also to migrate so many users in such a small time.

It is written on BSNL website that calls and sms provided on mtnl networks. MTNL has a small spectrum reserved for BSNL roaming otherwise they have stopped their service for local residents. No 1X or EvDo on MTNL network. Sent from my K016 using Tapatalk

Hi all every one is complaining about Rcom gsm.BUT I am in Hyderabad used till now Rcdma from the day of launch, also using idea, bsnl, telenor, Rcomgsm and aircel. In GSM I am most satisfied with RGsm than any other gsm operator.Call quality is better in Rgsm than even Airtel and Idea.I am using Rgsm for 5 yrs which is also my primary number. Except their CC who are mostly insane. Don't be scared of RGSM.And with Rcom 4G on 850mhz band we are going to enjoy it more than with airtel 4G or idea 4G.have patience.it definitely pays
