Reliance Netconnect Broadband Evdo (with High Speed Evdo Data Cards) Coming Soon!

Recommended Posts

I have this offer from my vendor for bulk Sierra EVDO cards in 25USD.

Have you looked into buying GSM/HSDPA USB modems and selling them here?

May be you can import cards similar to those that are used by AT&T 3G customers in the USA and sell them here after unlocking. We can use those modems with GPRS/EDGE untill 3G is widely available here in India. Right now GPRS/EDGE modems that are available for Rs. 2400 or more are too costly for the value that they provide because those cards will become obsolete in around a year or so from today.

If it is a stable service that can deliver standard EVDO speeds, then the unlimited plan is really sexy!!!

Unlimited wont be less than 3k per month.

Rs.3500 is quite reasonable.

Isn't it?

And Huawei Ec 168c is much better than ZTE AC 8710.

:previous: how can anyone know that when the rules and regulations for MNP service is not yet announced?

Rs.3500 is reasonable considering that it is a EVDO data card.

The Plans are Superb but it is costly than Tata but cheaper then BSNL

Also Is it Possible to Exchange the Current Data Card for the New EVDO...???

Mobile Number Portability??

Do you really use Mobile Number of Data Card?

I think you are taking MNP as Mobile Device Portability.....

You noticed price, but didnt notice the technology.

TATA, BSNL are on EVDO Rev.0

2.45Mbps Dl 153.6kbps UL

Reliance is on EVDO Rev.A

3.1mbps Dl 1.8Mbps UL

Still you think it is costly?

Also Is it Possible to Exchange the Current Data Card for the New EVDO...???

No

BSNL EVDO datacard (without voice & restricted mobility) is Rs.550/mth for unlimited as against Rs.1750 for R-CDMA EVDO datacard (without voice & full mobility). So Reliance is Rs.1200 more but has full mobility.

This is the lowest price in the market and a potential game changer subjected to 3 conditions:

1. Service is reliable and not a joke like the EVDO service provided by BSNL. This is easy to do for reliance given that EVDO is a proven technology and is already being used in the USA at large scale.

2. Connection should be real unlimited and should not have limits such as the FUP rules of Airtel.

3. Pings should not be very high as they are in case of Netconnect right now. I see pings of 700ms to servers in USA on Netconnect and pings to USA based servers are well over 1 second in case of Tata indicom plug2surf.

Basically we are talking about a potential 3.1 mbps unlimited connection for about Rs. 1930 per month (inclusive of service tax). If the service is of good quality then it will start much needed price wars in the broadband market in India.

It would all depend on the stability of the connection. As someone mentioned above, BSNL's EVDO is joke, if Reliance's EVDO is stable then it can't be compared with BSNL EVDO.

I hear from testing phase reviews that the connection was "very stable and good".

wait for few month BSNL will implement ALL india roaming and best part is that it will work anywhere in coutry and is not restricted to big cities as in case for reliance.

Is device provided by relince is Rev A complaitble? i doubt? because it provide same device ZTE acb8710 as in bsnl.

also bsnl evdo will work in area where thr is NO EVDO coverage, in that case it works with 1X

In the initial phase when the service is starting and when the users are less generally the service is good. However the real test begins when there are 1000 + users hook on the same tower.

Its premature to compare R-EVDO to BSNL-EVDO. But I would still say the price difference is huge and a very important decision pointer.

You Tube Video plays like flowing water :D .

I have seen it.

But I dont find the plans suitable for me :(

I cant afford Rs.1925 for Unlimited.

Ang 1/2 GB is useless for me. I will consume 500MBs daily.
