Yahoo Messenger @ R-World

Recommended Posts

Yeah..... YAHOO MESSENGER IN R-WORLD HAS BEEN CLOSED FROM PAST MONTH COZ RELIANCE HAS TIED UP WITH REDIFF AS U CAN USE (****)REDIFFBOL MESSENGERE

If you are talking about Messenger in wap then

I guess Reliance never had a tie up for wap services with yahoo..

bcz they dont need it.. It was free.. Anyone having a wap client could access the

messenger at http://mm.yahoo.com/

Also any new site added in the index page of the R-Surf is not any kinda new

service by reliance.. They are jus giving you some links to the most visited sites

I guess its that yahoo guys closed tat service..

Can any one of you log on to this yahoo wap site from R Surf? Here is the link of one of the yahoo's wap site.

http://wap.oa.yahoo.com/

It looks cool on internet explorer and seems just fine to open on the mobile. My father has gone to chennai for 3 days and has taken my mobile with him. So if anyone of you who tries logging to this site can post the results here.

Thanks

If you open the link in internet explorer then you will see a very basic website without any ads or other waste links. Definitely it looks like a wap site.

As for my e mail id, it is rohitkumar1985in@yahoo.co.in , rohitkumar1985@gmail.com , rohitkumar@rock.com.

The last one ROCKS!!. so does this site and all the members!!

if u want to open yahoo site and recieve and send emails :

go to r world->r surf ->top sites->google->search options->mobile web->search for 'indiatimes' ->u will find a link named karthick karunanithis wap site, enter it->got to 'links'->click on yahoo and you are there.

if u search for yahoo in google mobile web search you may get a lot of sites ,but unfortunately most of them are not english ones. the functions other than email do not work in the above mentioned site.

The simplest way to check yahoo mails is to type wap.yahoo.co.uk in the rworld->surf->goto option.

Once the page is loaded you can add it to "my favorites" so that you dont have to retype it again on

subsequent visits.

Maybe sowmeen mailed the details to your email id.Couldn't find them here. And I think typing wap.yahoo.co.uk is better than doing a google search and then clicking on the link :P

You can always add the link in 'my favourites' in r surf to get back to it later whenever u want.

Read this

http://au.help.yahoo.com/help/au/mobile/mobile-26.html

I think this is the address of the yahoo wap site which sowmeen was talking about

http://wap.yahoo.com.au/

Try typing it in goto in r surf.

The problem lies with the browser used in the handset (jBrowser from Jataayusoft). Unless they enhance the browser, it won't work. Maybe we can urge Reliance to do something regarding the browser development as we are now paying for R-Surf.
