Hello Experts, need your help regarding my HTC Droid DNA, it has started to reboot/restart all by itself, i tried holding the power+volume down key but by the time it reaches that stage it restarts again, i have lots of data, pictures and important numbers in it, please assist. 3. Dear Friends, I am facing a hardware problem, & a software solution can solve the problem temporary, so looking for one. In my HTC Rhyme, I have damanged SD Card slot. There was some spring problem in slot & sd card was keep coming out after inserting. So, in order to solve the problem, I decided to remove spring (in sd card slot), so that sd card won't come out & then apply tape so that it will get fixed. As such, we don't require SD card removal day in & day out. However, while using uneducated method to remove spring by inserting a paper cutter etc, I have damagned sd card pins on the phone, so now SD Card slot itself is damagned & can't read SD Card. As such, I can live without SD Card memory space, (as phone works perfectly for data, sms, voice), but only problem is camera & whatsapp. Camera is not concern, but Whatsapp is. Whatsapp downloads images / media on a folder on SD card & since it is not ther, it doesn't display photo / video etc. So, is there a solution, (software) , which can make this What'sapp images / video store on internal memory of phone ? I do have home network & phone can read/write on my laptop through ES explorer. So, if whatsapp can store photos/video there, then also it is fine. I am planning for hardware repair, but parts are difficult to get, hence so far none of the repair shop, I have visited, called me back saying that part can be arranged & problem can be fixed. Hope, I can get some solution for this..Thanks in advance..
  4. Firewater S-OFF Tool For Any HTC Device

This looks cool! New Firewater S-OFF Tool Will Unlock Any HTC Device In Moments! Including (but not limited to) newer HTC phones like HTC one, Droid DNA, One s, One Max and many others! Source Official Firewater Website For Download & Instruction >> http://firewater-soff.com/instructions/ Like most OEMs, HTC likes to lock down the devices it sells to the general public, but maybe you like a little more freedom. That means an exploit is required to get S-OFF status. The new Firewater S-Off tool can manage that for any (or at least very nearly any) HTC device, even newer HTC One phones. The tool comes courtesy of developers beaups and fuses, and it's completely free for personal use. Just download the files and get to work. The website has a full walkthrough of the process. There are some prerequisites that need to be taken care of first, though. Here is what that entails... Prerequisites Working adb on your PC. Yes, that means OS X, linux, Windows, etc. are all supported. HTC drivers installed and working HTC sync removed (not closed – REMOVED) All other phone software removed or disabled (Samsung Kies, PDANet, etc.) A working internet connection ON YOUR DEVICE - wifi, 3g, 4g, etc. are all supported. There is no way around this requirement, don’t ask. USB debugging enabled on your device Your device must be HTCDEV unlocked/rooted or have a working temproot. A temproot that works with many modern (not all) HTC devices is provided on the website. Do not attempt to run firewater from a terminal emulator on your device. You MUST use adb along with a PC. A supported device. firewater *should* work with most modern QUALCOMM BASED HTC devices, including (but not limited to) the htc one, droid dna, one s, one max, and many others.

  6. HTC EVO (3D & 4G) Black screen of Death?

I didnt find anyone mentioning here being victim of this. but on most other forums there are plenty who have encountered this specially on evo 3d and few on evo 4g. the screen turns dark but touch remains working as well as the touch buttons. reset, restart, nothing seems to bring it back to life. BLACK SCREEN OF DEATH (popularly known) so finally i even ordered a brand new screen+display from etradesupply.com and even after replacing it remains the same. any tips or guidance is highly appreciated as the phone has become useless. cant enable to debugging too to do other tweaks or updates.
  7. Single sim GSM phone handset other than nokia and no touch screen plz, want to purchase for my close relative. Samsung / HTC preferred.
  8. HTC One SV CDMA

I found a link on GSM arena with HTC planning to release a new CDMA handset. Hope this comes to India. http://www.gsmarena....v_cdma-5106.php Looks wise looks just similar to Desire SV. But has a little specs better than it.
  9. HTC Desire C (Golf) hands on

While browsing a galaxy of new smartphones launched in India, set off to purchase a smartphone which is manufactured in Q2 2012, so as a new phone will last well atleast for its first year. Ordered it on flipkart.com for Rs 12,300 inclusive of 8GB micro-SD card. The next day when I checked the purchase summary, it stated delivery after 9 days and so cancelled the order. Got a seal packed piece from Indraprasht shopping centre, Borivali, Mumbai for Rs 10,000 excluding the memory card with 1 year HTC warranty. Initial hands-on:- A light press on power and it boots on, boot time is quite less. Device takes quite a minimal time to settle down. The 4.0.3-Sense 4A interface is identical to the HTC One series. The back cover is rubber coated to prevent slip-off. It fits well in an average sized palm. Google sync went through well though some users claim HTC Golf has sync issues. It supports social site syncing as well. In-call:- Call quality showed a little more bass but it was reasonably clear both ways. HTC dialpad was easy to use, searching contacts was good too. The phone does not lag herein. Sad part here is, when in call, the proximity sensor does not sense the call, instead the screen goes off as soon as the call gets connected and then one has to press the power button repeatedly to switch on the screen till you hang up. It seems the phone has the proximity sensor bug which is not adjustable/repairable at this moment. Network connectivity:- Phone works well in WCDMA preferred mode. Auto switching between 3G and 2G bands work properly. 3G data can download any file from anywhere without compromising on battery or overall OS stability. Social Networks:- Facebook initialization, log-in and usage showed no lags of using a 600 MHz processor, Tapatalk, Forum Runner and Whatsapp worked flawlessly in this so called low powered device. Inspite of all the power hungry apps running in background, the back panel did not warm up. Touch was as responsive as it was designed. Screen:- With a 3.5 inch HVGA screen, images did not look cheap, videos did not shudder at any time. The bottom padding and key size of HTC ime is not adjustable so in some websites/ form fills it can be a little hectic to space out the type margin while using the HTC ime. Auto brightness works well and this phone's lowest brightness level is lower than most phones. Chrome does have visual niggles on this phone as in others. Camera:- No autofocus and no flash but still the image quality is not that cheap. HTC Sense 4 UI camera fits well with this phone's hardware aperture. Low light imagery is not good though. Camera can click fast and review time in gallery is fast. Battery:- Cannot expect a week long battey life just because the hardware is limited and screen size is smaller. Battery lasts for about 4 hours talktime on WCDMA and 5 hours on GSM. 3G data does take up the jiuce fast but slightly better than faster devices. Battery never heated up at any point of time. Music time lasted very well. OS-UI:- HTC's Sense UI 4A on 4.0.3 ICS on a low powered entry level device. The performance of this combination did not let down HTC's reputation. But this is surely not a gamepad. Games do not work well on this phone. Overall:- A better entry phone with a workable and tweakable OS. Future ROM developement can improve phone operations drastically. At 98 gms it is worthwhile for those using for heavy duty calling. Music quality with Beats Audio is fine. Hint:- Do not unlock bootloader and root your phone, custom roms (fewer) are unstable and not daily drivers. Reverting back to stock RUU is not possible because of non-availability of stock boot.img, Bootloader re-locked will continue to show warnings, CID errrors and more. 12. Pros & Cons: HTC Droid Incredible 2

Unboxing - https://picasaweb.go...feat=directlink Comes with --- Handset + Battery + Charger + Data Cable + 16GB Class 4 Micro SD card + Manuals + Verizon SIM As most of us are aware (Thanks to Hetal Ji), That Incredible 2 can work with both CDMA UIM & GSM SIM with Data on both type of Networks without any programming or much efforts. Just flash the Chinese ROM & insert any SIM & start using Phone without any activation or Programming.. For data simply do APN settings. Thats All. Simple in all ---- Link to Hetal Ji Post. ROM & Custom Recovery Flash Guide Issue with Chinese ROM is of annoying Chinese Application, Notifications & Chinese on Dialer Screen. But after lots of efforts & support by our Great forum members, I am able to remove these (Still a manual Process)--- Link Screenshots - Modified CT ROM Also Parin Bhai has come up with a CDMA Only ROM with Sense 3.0 which most of CDMA users will appreciate & love to use. --- Link Screenshots - Sence 3.0 ROM (for CDMA only) HTC Site Specifications - http://www.htc.com/u...dible2-verizon/ Review by Engadget - http://www.engadget....dible-2-review/ For GSM this Phone supports USSD codes & GPRS, EDGE, HSPDA for Data. For CDMA this Phone Supports 1x & EVDO Data. Handset is Perfect for users --- 1. Who want to use GSM & CDMA. 2. TATA / MTS Users. Since getting imported handsets to work on these networks with EVDO data is NOT easy. 3. Keep changing CDMA Numbers. 4. Who keep on chaging handsets, Since this handset supports GSM & CDMA both, It can be sold as GSM or either. I welcome Incredible 2 users to post their Reviews & point handset flaws. Thus Help all future buyer's on making their decision & benifit from it.

  17. Configuring EVDO on HTC EVO View 4G

Hello Gurus & All, My friend is bringing the Sprint's HTC EVO View 4G from. He want to use the Voice and EVDO from Reliance on it. After following up with RIMWEB these many days (posts by Hetal, Amit, Sadik), we understood some and need help for other questions. 1. Find out the SPC/MSL by using CDMA WS. 2. Backup NV Items and others. 3. Change the MCC and others in HTC Evo View to match Reliance. 4. Load Reliance HSD PRL 1005 using CDMA WS 5. Get the MEID registered in Reliance HLR by giving MEID, ESN, AKey (26 digits 12345678901234567890xxxxxx) 6. Have the GSK on this MEID and *22B to activate Voice. 6. Get the EVDO user name (MEID@hrpd.rcom.co.in) and password activated. ???? :( We have got confused by seeing the Droid EVDO configuration in another thread. 1. Configure the tab PPP Config of QPST. 1a. Format Um with MDN@hrpd.rcom.co.in 1b. Format AN tab with MEID@hrpd.rcom.co.in and the password as the one received from CC. 2. What about the radio? Would the current HTC View 4g radio works for Reliance CDMA? 3. What are the NV items to be edited for this? Any other steps that we have missed out? We have searched the forum and couldn't find (Might be overlooked). If you could point us to the post also would be great. Please help us on what to do for getting EVDO on HTC View 4g. Thanks, KP
  18. HTC Edge: First Quad Core Phone Revealed

HTC Edge: First Quad Core Phone Revealed Source Meet the HTC Edge: reportedly the company's first -- and probably one of the world's first -- cellphone powered by a quad-core processor. Information from a reliable source paints Edge as a premium handset incorporating the latest mobile technologies -- for the most part. The 4.7-inch Edge will allegedly be slightly over ten millimeters thick, and appears to be very much the successor to the just-unveiled Rezound/Vigor, as it should feature the same 720p resolution, 1GB of RAM, and backlit eight-megapixel camera with 28-millimeter, f/2.2 lens. The major improvement, then, would be Edge's supposed AP30 Tegra 3 CPU from Nvidia, which offers four 1.5GHz cores to Rezound's two. Internal storage will likely be bumped to 32GB, while the Bluetooth radio should hit version 4.0. Naturally, Beats Audio enhancements would be part of the package. Edge may also see the rollout of new or improved HTC content services, such as the previously tipped HTC Listen music store, HTC Read bookstore, and HTC Play gaming hub; the HTC Watch movie portal will reportedly begin to offer HD fare. Additionally, Edge could be one of the first Sense 4.0 devices. One thing that wasn't mentioned was LTE capability, with Edge only said to support 21Mbps HSDPA; it's possible that carrier-specific variants will still offer this highly-desired functionality. Also absent was mention of a specific version of Android, although if it doesn't ship with Ice Cream Sandwich (fairly unlikely), an upgrade would surely be deployed in short order. We're expecting Edge to arrive in late Q1/early Q2 of next year.
  19. Mods, I clubbed together the news snippets in one single post instead of creating separate topics in different sections so that readers could just go through main news from this post. Please create subtopics if required. Sony Ericsson officially launches Xperia Play and Xperia Arc in India Sony Ericsson has officially announced the availability of the two Android Gingerbread phones in the country, pricing the Xperia Play at Rs. 35,000, and the Xperia Arc at Rs. 32,000. Samsung Galaxy S II to release in May, gets dual-core speed bump to 1.2 GHz The Samsung Galaxy S II was introduced back in February . First expected to arrive by March, it now seems the earliest any retailer will stock the Galaxy S II is 29th April, over in Germany. Samsung Mobile India however, announced a bigger delay, stating a June release date. We don't know who to believe. A lot must be going on backstage, and now Samsung has announced via its official Estonian Facebook page that its flagship Android phone will now ship with its dual-core processor upgraded to a 1.2GHz clockspeed, instead of the original 1GHz specs.
